History of Temple Baptist Church

"Pastor Bill Bowler came to Tucson 45 years ago, and started the Metropolitan Baptist Church. He then went into Evangelism, and after a number of years started the Temple Baptist Church about 20 years ago. He was a fearless and flamboyant preacher and crusader for Christ and conservative politics. He authored a book on "The Virgin Birth", hosted one of the first call-in radio shows in the USA, and started"The Pastor's Study" some 20 years ago. It has grown to some 48-50 stations, and continues on as part of his legacy."

Pastor Bowler firmly believed the Lord had called Bro. Cliff to pastor the Temple Baptist Church. Bro. Cliff, being a strong Independent Baptist, and having a background in radio, was a great fit!
